Uncouth

I see no need
to clasp my hands
to sing Hosannas
for Promised Lands
to bow my head
to know my place
to think myself
a spook’s disgrace

Why let your illness
Strike me blind
Let your thought virus
rape my mind?
I’d sooner see it
kill you first!
You’re fucking bloated;
fit to burst!

You swarm on me
to let me know
all of the ways
you think me low
You tell me of
a place called Hell
“where all the damned,
the heathens dwell”

You say to me:
“You’re wretched, son
you need to bow down
to the One
Renounce all self
Renounce your life
for you play with
the gilt-edged knife”

You call this “truth”
Yet where’s your proof?
I have all cause to be uncouth!
So call me Satan
Call me swine
I’ll pay no heed to your Divine

“Pride cometh,
before a fall”
And spouting shit
must make you tall!
Prostrate yourself
before your spook
and yet you dare
call me the kook?

You say yours is
a benign God
Then why your bile?
You wrath-filled sod!
“May you drown in
the Lake of Fire
May your sins light
your funeral pyre!”

Well, just brand me
The Devil’s Own
Yes, keep it up
you fucking drone!
But don’t expect me
to sit quiet
When you bait me
expect a fight!

“Dog of this world”
that’s what you said
Yet, you, my friend
are just brain-dead!
“You have my pity!”
That’s some front!
Here – have it back
you blessed cunt!

You call this “truth”
Yet where’s your proof?
I have all cause to be uncouth!
So call me Satan
Call me swine
I’ll pay no heed to your Divine

hm, pretty good. each line seems to have 4 syllables (except one that i saw that had 3), and the italicized ones break free of that? is that intentional? if so, good.
